Swedish-Colombian American Lena Viddo grew up in and around Washington DC and moved to New York in her early twenties to pursue her passion for art.
Lena received a BA in illustration and fine art from FIT State University of New York, and attended the Polimoda in Florence, where she studied Renaissance painting techniques.
Her work is provovative and challenging, concerning herself primarily with intimacy and duality in relationships, and the internal and external female landscape. Lena's favorite subjects include mothers and children, super-girls, dominatrixes and submissive women as interpretations of the use and abuse of power in relationships. Her current series explores allegorical heroines of fairy tales, myth, and biblical stories.
