Straight Up is an appropriation of a production still from the 1956 Warner Brothers film “Giant” starring James Dean, surrounded by bands of horizontal lines, above and below, meditating on the experience of being tough and sensitive, as Dean’s flawed ‘Jett Rink’ character in the film.
